Our Funding Offer

Changes to funded childcare from April 2024/2025

On 15th March 2023, the government announced plans to increase access to funded childcare hours to include younger children. The phased introduction of this plan begins in April 2024 through to September 2025.

From April 2024, children aged two are to receive 15 hours of funded childcare.
As of September 2024, children aged nine months are to have access to the 15 hours of funded childcare.
By September 2025, all eligible children aged from nine months to school age are to receive 30 hours of funded childcare.

Charges and Chargeable Extras

At Lexden Lodge, we accept the government funding for children aged 9 months, 2, 3 and 4 years, provided through Essex CC. The funding calendar runs alongside that of the academic school year of 38 weeks. We offer a stretched funding offer to allow parents to access their funding across the year and not just term time only.

We offer a range of funded day options including full 10hr days or part days. An example of how you can use 30hrs stretched across the year is:

Weekly/Daily Example

Monday: 08.00 - 18:00 @ £0.00 per hour (fully funded day)

Tuesday: 08:00 - 18:00 @ £0.00 per hour (fully funded day)

Wednesday: 08.00-10.00 @ £0.00 per hour (fully funded)

Any additional hours on a third day will be charged @ £12.88 per hour for under 3yrs and £11.79 for over 3yrs

Any further days in a week would be charged at our normal private daily rates.

Voluntary Consumable Charges

At Lexden Lodge we employ two fully trained chefs who cook a range of healthy meal options from various cultures around the world. We use our local Perrins Butchers, and all our fruit and vegetables come fresh from the London Markets through our local greengrocer. We ensure children access a balanced and healthy diet here at the nursery.

Lunch - @ £6.00

Tea - @ £6.00

Snacks - @ £2.50

Breakfast-@ £3.00

All day meal charge £20

Our private daily/hourly rates are inclusive of all meals.

We only charge for meals. We do not charge for any additional services, for example, materials, trips, educational visits, special events and yearly celebrations etc. If you cannot meet the voluntary charges alternative options will be discussed.

Tax-Free Childcare

We accept tax-free childcare payments. These are intended to help cover the cost of childcare for working families of children 0-11 years, and in some cases older children. You can use this support alongside the government-funded hours entitlement.
