Welcome to Lexden Lodge Kindergarten
Our Vision Statement
Our vision is to provide high quality childcare and education in an inclusive setting that is welcoming to all children, families and staff. To offer children the best possible start in their early years through high quality teaching and learning.
Our History
Established in 2005, Lexden Lodge Kindergarten rapidly became one of the leading private nursery schools in Essex, winning numerous awards and accolades.
Since then, we have built up a remarkable reputation in the childcare community and in the locality, verified by our Accreditation through Day Nurseries Association. We are so proud of all the children that have been through our kindergarten over these years. We have watched them flourish and grow into incredible young children who transition on to school ready for the next stage in their learning journeys.
Our Location
Lexden Lodge Kindergarten is conveniently situated on Lexden Road, less than a mile from the town centre of Colchester, Essex.
Our central location provides easy access for parents who are either working in Colchester, or commuting out of town. We are easily accessible and have adequate parking for dropping-off or picking-up your child.
Our Values
Our Values at Lexden Lodge Kindergarten will always be a family-orientated business. We endorse a learning through play philosophy with adults supporting and encouraging children’s natural desire to learn. We shall always offer a safe, nurturing, and inspirational environment for our children.
Our Setting
Lexden Lodge Kindergarten is situated in a beautiful three-storey Victorian building which has been converted to create an inspiring nursery for under-fives.
Each room is extensively furnished with age-appropriate nursery equipment that provides each child with a wide range of stimulating experiences and resources. Children access learning within spacious bright rooms with natural daylight.
The nursery is a safe place for children with security measures that include secure grounds, fire alarm, door alarms, stair gates, intruder alert systems, and safe recruitment processes, including DBS and reference checks for all staff.
Outdoor activities contribute to children’s health and wellbeing, their physical development and their knowledge of the world around them. Children thrive when learning a new skill including, how to negotiate measured risk taking with staff teaching and guiding them. This builds resilience in young children. Our gardens incorporate a variety of safe outdoor play areas and play equipment for the various ages and abilities of the children.
Of course, we advocate no smoking throughout the premises.
