POLICIES
The nursery’s policies help us to make sure that the service
provided is of the highest quality and that attending the
nursery is an enjoyable and beneficial experience for each
child and her/his parents.
The staff work together to adopt the policies and they
collectively have the opportunity to take part in the annual
review of the policies. This review helps us to make sure that
the policies support and enable the nursery in providing a
quality service for its members and the local
community.
Copies of the policies are available to parents to be read on
the premises on
request
.
SPECIAL NEEDS
As part of the
Lexden Lodge
Kindergarten policy to make sure that its provision meets
the needs of each individual child, we take account of any
special needs which a child may have. Should there be any
concerns regarding your child we will discuss them in full
with you, at a time convenient to you.
Lexden Lodge Kindergarten
works to the
requirements of the 1993 Education Act and The Special
Educational Needs Code of Practice (2000). We have a small
group of trained Special Educational Needs Co-coordinators at
Lexden Lodge
Kindergarten; headed by Angela McQuitty, The Manager, and
collaborate with the Area Special Educational Needs
Coordinators on any matter that needs additional professional
support.
THE FIRST DAYS
We want your child
to feel happy and safe at the nursery. To make sure that this
is the case, the staff will work with you to decide on the
best way to help your child to settle into the nursery.
Generally we offer two weeks, in which free visits to the
nursery help them become settled, and liaise with you in
deciding when you prefer these to be. There is more
information on this aspect in our settling-in policy, which
forms part of this prospectus.
