OUR SETTING

LEXDEN LODGE KINDERGARTEN is conveniently situated in Lexden Road . The Lexden Road is an ideal central main road located only minutes away from the town centre. Hence provides an easy access to parents who are working in the local central business district.

Lexden Lodge kindergarten is a beautiful Victorian building, which has been converted especially to create an exclusive nursery for under 5’s, and benefits from spacious and airy rooms. It is a 3-story building with the advantages of lift, fire stairs, and fire alarm and offers easy access and parking. The gardens incorporate a variety of safe outdoor play areas, and play equipment for various ages and abilities. We advocate no smoking through out the premises.

Each room is extensively equipped with the latest nursery equipment ensuring that each child is offered a wide range of stimulating experiences with toys and materials appropriate to their age.

Our outdoor activities contribute to children’s health, their physical development and their knowledge of the world around them. The children have the opportunity and are encouraged to take part in outdoor child-chosen and adult-led activities, as well as those provided in the indoor playrooms.

INSPECTION

Our Ofsted inspection results ( 15^th February 2006 & 9^th December 2009 ) can be viewed on the website [www.ofsted.gov.uk ], and confirm that all areas of our Kindergarten are rated as outstanding by their inspecting officer.  

OUR AIM

Lexden Lodge Kindergarten welcomes children from birth to five years old and their parents/guardians and families, with a warm, friendly family atmosphere. Our aim is to provide our children with the best possible care and endeavor to create a warm, friendly, trusting and safe atmosphere, so our children will get the best possible start in life. All children are unique and they are all welcomed regardless of their race, religion, culture or ability. We treat all children as    individuals, with unique potentials, understanding that their development is individual too.

Our aim is not to teach children, but to support them as they reach their own conclusions in play and investigation as they need to learn many concepts. The Early Years Foundation Stage states that in play, children learn at their highest level. At our Kindergarten children learn through play and experimenting, with adult guidance and support. We will achieve this by offering the children well structured or individually developed, fun-filled activity programmes , uniquely suited to each child’s needs. So our staff are on hand to support learning rather than take a teaching role.

Lexden Lodge Kindergarten is fully registered with the Fire, and Environmental Health Departments. We have comprehensive policies which govern our operations, and which can be viewed at any time by our parents; all staff are fully vetted, and encouraged in maintaining, gaining and furthering their qualifications, which include First Aid.
